1. Reservations & Rates
Do I need to present a credit card to rent a car?
Yes a credit card is required at the start of the hire along with FULL drivers licences for all drivers.
Is a credit card required when making a reservation?
Yes, you will be asked to enter a valid credit card number at the time of booking. We then validate your card number at that time.
What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee for the following:
No cancellation fee applies for cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the scheduled start of the rental.
A 10% cancellation fee applies for cancellations made between 3 days (72 hours) and 30 days prior to the scheduled start of the rental.
A 20% cancellation fee applies for cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled start of the rental.
A 50% cancellation fee applies for a “no show” where we do not receive notice of cancellation prior to the scheduled start of the rental.
Can I pay with a debit card?
Yes, you can pay the final invoice with your debit card, but you must secure the booking using a credit card.

What do I need to bring with me when I rent a vehicle?
You need bring a current drivers licence (and English translation if applicable) and a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

How do your rates differ?
Rates may differ depending on the length of rental and vehicle you select.
Do you charge for airport fees and/or premium location fees?
Airport fees and premium location fees are charged by some rental companies to recoup the cost of having offices at those locations. Enquire direct with us if you feel this may affect your charge.
Do you charge for additional drivers?
No we don’t charge for additional drivers. When you pick up the car at the start of the hire you can add drivers to the rental agreement without incurring any additional charges.
***Any additional drivers nominated must have a full driver licence and be present when the vehicle is collected.
Do you charge booking fees or vehicle registration recovery fees?
No we don’t.
If I want to pick up a vehicle at one location and drop it off at another, does it cost more?
It depends, please enquire with us if you need that service.
Can we do a one-way destination car rental?
Please let us know if you require this service.
Do you charge extra for drivers aged between 21 and 25?
We may charge more, please enquire direct if you are under 25.
Do you charge extra for drivers 60 years of age or more?
No we don’t impose a surcharge for senior drivers.
Do you charge a card transaction fee on car rentals?
No we don’t.
Do you charge a bond?
We don’t normally charge a bond provided the hire is secured or paid for by credit card. However, if you are unable to supply a credit card a bond of up to $3,000 may be required at the start of your hire.
How do toll roads work with your hire cars?
While driving in Australia you may encounter Toll Roads. All vehicles travelling on these roads are obliged by law to pay fees to the relevant authority. Citylink, electronic e-tags are not fitted on our vehicles (they are registered though), it is up to the client to call up Citylink and add registrations. Admin fees and toll charges apply if registration is not transferred.
2. Requirements for Renting
Do I need to present a credit card at the time of rental?
A credit card must be presented at the start of the hire along with FULL drivers licences for all drivers. Please Note: Debit cards can be used for payment but are subject to additional security bonds.

How old do you have to be to rent one of your hire cars?
The minimum age for renting our hire cards is 21 years old. However, the renter must have a full and valid driver licence and credit card, and adhere to our Terms & Conditions.
Can anyone other than myself drive the vehicle?
Yes, you can nominate additional drivers at no extra cost. Any additional drivers nominated must have a full driver licence and be present when the vehicle is collected.
***Insurance cover is only valid for drivers named on the contract. Additional drivers will need to present their driver licence and any required translation documents at the time of rental.
Do I need a credit card to rent a hire car?
Yes, you must secure the booking using a credit card. However, you can pay for the rental with a debit card. If you would like to pay for the rental using a debit card you will be charged the full amount at time of pick up. When making a reservation online you will be asked for a valid credit card at time of booking.
***If paying by debit card you will need to pay a bond. The bond amount charged depends on whether or not you take Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance cover. Please enquire with us direct if you are in any doubt about this cost or procedure via our Contact Form on our website.
Is there an additional charge for more than one driver?
No. There is no additional charge for having extra drivers on the rental contract.
What drivers licence requirements are required to hire one of your hire cars?
You must have a current and valid full drivers licence to rent a car from us. If you have an International Driving Permit you must also carry your current and valid driver licence.

Can I hire a car if I have a provisional licence?
No. You must have a full licence (i.e. no red or green P-plates) to rent one of our hire cars.
3. Rental Locations & Vehicles
Can I reserve a specific make, model, or colour of car?
Unfortunately due to the size of our vehicle fleet and the distances between rental locations it isn’t possible to guarantee a specific make or model of car.
Where can’t I drive one of your hire cars?
Please only drive our vehicles within Victoria and no driving on beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or flood waters.
Are there additional charges for returning a car late?
Any unauthorised late return will attract a surcharge of $20 per hour (up to 4 hours) and $80 per day thereafter in addition to the daily rate. Please contact us if you wish to extend your rental or you are running late returning one.
Can I smoke in your hire cars?
No. Smoking is not permitted. If a hire car is returned smelling of cigarette / cigar smoke you will be liable for the full cost of cleaning.
Can I take your hire car off-road?
Vehicles must only be used on a road which is properly formed and constructed as a sealed, metalled or gravel road. Vehicles are not permitted to be taken to outside of Victoria.
Can I pick up my car at one location and return it at another?
Yes, we allow one-way rentals between locations. However, if the vehicle is returned to a different location than that specified on the rental contract without the owner’s prior consent an additional fee of up to $2000 may be charged at the owner’s sole discretion.
What happens if I return my car rental early?
If you return you vehicle earlier than expected then no refund applies.
What should I do if the car has a breakdown?
Our hire cars are covered by 24 hour Roadside Assistance for mechanical related breakdowns. In the event that you need roadside assistance, please contact us immediately for assistance.

***For non-mechanical (driver error) call outs, you will need to pay the applicable fee directly to the roadside assistance service provider prior to their attendance. We recommend you take our Roadside Assistance Cover to avoid unexpected charges.
Mechanical breakdowns covered by the standard Roadside Assistance service include the following:
Engine faults
Electrical faults
Cooling system
Vehicle recovery
For all Non-Mechanical breakdowns, the Roadside Assistance service provider will charge you the relevant call out fees. Non-mechanical breakdowns include, but are not limited to, the following:
Running out of fuel
Refilling the vehicle with the incorrect fuel (i.e. putting diesel in instead of petrol)
Damage to wheels and/or tyres
Losing the keys or locking them inside the vehicle
Having a flat battery due to the ignition or lights being left on
A breakdown as a result of damage caused in an accident, including salvage To avoid unexpected charges we recommend you take out additional Roadside Assistance Cover which covers running out fuel, lost keys or keys locked in the car, flat battery due to lights left on, and wheel changing.
What do I do if I have an accident?
In the unfortunate event of an accident, please do the following:
Notify us as soon as practical
Notify the police if the accident involves injury.
If possible, prepare a written statement of the facts signed by all parties. If agreement cannot be reached, obtain a copy of the police report.
Do not make any admission of liability, as this may prejudice your insurance coverage.
Record full details of all parties and vehicles involved in the accident (drivers name, address, drivers licence number, telephone number, mobile phone number, email address, vehicle registration number, vehicle make/model/year, insurance company, and apparent damage).
You will need to allow at least 30 minutes to complete a full accident report form when you return the vehicle.
Unless you have purchased Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) cover, you will be required to pay all vehicle damage up to a maximum of the insurance excess. If you have a camera, please take photographs of all damaged vehicles and the accident site to verify the damage and circumstances to assist us with our claim.
Can I pick-up or return a rental car outside normal business hours?

How do I get from the airport terminal to your hire car pick up location?
WE offer a free airport transfer service to our rental locations. Details of the collection point for airport transfers are included in the email confirmation.

4. Payment Options

What refuelling options do I have?
You can either return the rental vehicle with a full tank of petrol, or you can pre-pay for fuel at the rental location prior to starting your hire. If you select our pre-pay option you can return the car without needing to fill it up first.
Can I pay with a debit card?
Yes, you can pay with a debit card, but you must secure the booking using a credit card. When making a reservation online you will be asked for a valid credit card at time of booking. If you would like to pay using debit card you must inform the location before you start the rental.
***If paying by debit card you will need to pay a bond. The bond amount charged depends on whether or not you take Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance cover.
Do you charge a bond?
No bond is charged provided the hire is secured or paid for by credit card. If you are unable to supply a credit card, then a bond of up to $3,000 may be required at the start of your hire. This bond can be paid by cash or eftpos / debit card.
Can you guarantee that there will be no hidden car rental costs?
Yes. All our car rental rates include GST (Australian Goods & Services Tax), unlimited kilometres, and standard insurance with a low excess/deductible of $2,750. All optional extras such as Child Safety Seats, Roadside Assistance Cover, GPS and Wifi units can be hired and the rates are clearly displayed during the booking process.
What happens if I get a speeding ticket or parking ticket?
Infringement Notices: In the event that we later receive an infringement notice for a speeding, parking, or other traffic infringement relating to the period the vehicle was on hire:
We notify and provide the Hirer details of the infringement notice as soon as is practical.
We will provide the necessary information to the relevant authority for such notices to be directed to the Hirer.
An administration fee of A$40 will be charged to the Hirer for transfer of liability for the notice to the Hirer.
5. Insurance

What motor vehicle insurance do I receive?
Our rental vehicles are covered by standard motor vehicle insurance, however an excess may be charged for any loss or damage incurred during the hire period. Our standard insurance excess is $2,750 but you can purchase Excess Reduction / Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) coverage, which reduces your excess liability to either $500 or zero depending on the level of cover selected.
We strongly recommend all renters take out full Excess Reduction / Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) coverage for peace of mind motoring.
In case of an accident, what excess am I liable for?
Our standard insurance excess is $2,750 but you can purchase Excess Reduction / Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) coverage, which reduces your excess liability to either $500 or zero depending on the level of cover selected.

GPS navigation systems can be booked online or hired at the time of rental from the rental location.
Do your cars come with a child safety seat?
Not usually.
Can I modify or install a child safety seat so it is rear facing?
No, we will not authorise the modification or installation as a rear facing seat. Under no circumstances should customers attempt to reconfigure our forward facing child safety seats.
Can I install my own child safety seat or capsule?
Yes, you may install your own child safety seat or capsule of any type in our vehicles at your own risk.
